Sudanese American Community in Richmond VA is a non-profit organization; its members are committed to preserve and maintain the diverse Sudanese culture, and carry it to the next generations residing in Richmond VA. SAC is dedicated to help immigrants integrate successfully into American society and work creatively to improve the individual's confidence and his sense of empowerment through cultural adaptation. The Sudanese American Community fosters pride in Sudanese culture treats, lifting our community members by supporting and mentoring initiatives, lectures, classes, conferences and study groups. Our core principle is to empower our youth to reach God given potential by unleashing their hidden capacities.
The Sudanese Community Center (SCC) was established to serve Sudanese-Americans and to serve the community at large. It carries on human relations activities on a charitable basis for the purpose of demonstrating to the community the positive force of Richmond’s Sudanese-American citizens. It plans, promotes, and carries out other charitable, educational and cultural activities which best serve the welfare of Americans of Sudanese descend and the community at large.
The Sudanese American Community (SAC) of Richmond is an ethnic organization that was founded in 2005 to celebrate the heritage and culture of Richmond’s Sudanese American community. The SAC strives to preserve the core values of our beautiful Sudanese- American cultural heritage that glue the social fabric of our community. Sudanese American Community is a place where history is taught, memories are shared, and friends gather. The Community Center ought to be a place that gives back to the Sudanese Americans of all ages by keeping our heritage alive through organized events such as religious celebrations, festivals, food, music performances, sports, and many other activities.
